Some posts explore AI governance, public policy, accessibility, education, and technology. Others are observations about learning, digital culture, or the systems that shape everyday life. Not everything fits neatly into a single category, and that's intentional.
I publish when there is something worth saying rather than to a fixed schedule. Sometimes that means several posts in a week. Sometimes it means a longer pause while I'm researching or building something new.
What would change if the public disagreed?
Public engagement creates legitimacy only when people can still influence an AI system’s purpose, boundaries, safeguards or conditions of use.
Can the person affected actually challenge the decision?
Human oversight is not meaningful unless a person can understand an AI-supported decision, introduce missing context and obtain a different outcome.
What are you actually buying when you procure AI?
AI procurement is not simply the purchase of a technical capability. It also determines what an institution will control, depend upon and remain able to explain.
What problem are you actually asking AI to solve?
An AI strategy should begin with a clearly defined organisational problem and leave open the possibility that AI may not be the right answer.
